A small aeroplane is built from plastic or wood. It is driven by a propeller, which is powered by a small electric motor. The aeroplane is suspended from an overhead point and flies in a circle.
The CAPTIVE AEROPLANE WITH THE LOT is a very simple model to construct. This has a lot of scope for combining two different areas of study: technology and art (with a bit of woodwork thrown in!).
The aeroplane is a simple model to make and includes a bamboo stick (for the fuselage) and HIPS (High Impact Poly Styrene) - that can be cut with a pair of scissors (to construct the wings and tail section), fishing line and a snap swivel. This is a no-solder version which has a motor and switch with wires pre-soldered to them, with twist-on connectors to join the wires.
Suitable for Home Education setting, hobbyists and senior primary school students.
