Every Technology kit order is supplied with a detailed Teaching unit which provides design information, construction ideas and comprehensive assembly instructions. Most teaching units also have a theory section, as well as PCB overlays and circuit diagrams (where applicable).
To assist you in evaluating the scope of work involved to complete the project, we previously developed lite teaching units. We have now replaced most of those units with Overviews, which can be found below. Each Overview has a description of the kit, what is provided in the kit, additional items and tools that may be required, information about the project, and where applicable, what theory is covered. These Overviews don’t contain any assembly instructions – those are provided with your order.
Please note: We are currently replacing the remaining lite teaching units with Scorpio Kit Overviews. This is a work in progress, and we appreciate your patience and understanding.
To access specific kit overviews click on the kit name below and the Overview will download. If the kit you are interested in does not have a downloadable Overview available, please contact us.
overviews
We offer over 120 different kits for using and making in the classroom. These kits for our vehicles and other devices have been graded according to the level of skill and expertise required to construct them, as well as the skills to be learnt.
The Overviews detail whether the kits contain electrical, electronic or mechanical components, and indicate how much classroom time may be needed. They include a description of the aim of the project, and provide an overview of what design, fabrication and assembly are involved.
Most kits require fabrication and soldering, although there are some exceptions:
- Introductory / Starter kits (eg. Simple circuits)
- the No-Solder kits
- the Blue Brothers range include chassis material
- the “With the Lot” kits include body parts / material
- Breadboard projects don’t require soldering
NOTE: We also have information on how to adapt some (basic) kits to be No-Solder.
Introductory Kits & Introduction to Electric Circuits Kits
