Qualitatively used for ray optics demonstration and simple diffraction work as well as to indicate the points on overhead images and charts.
Requires 3 x AA batteries (not supplied) to project visible red spot with a sharply focused beam of wavelength 630-680nm with only 1mw power consumption.
