Each side of the copper cube has a different surface: dull black, bright black, white and bright. The cube measures approximately 100 mm across.
Use the LESLIE CUBE to investigate how the amount of thermal energy absorbed or radiated by a surface depends on the nature of that surface.
The apparatus is filled with water maintained at boiling point by a low Bunsen flame. Infrared sensors may be used to compare the relative radiant heat output from each of the four faces.
