This type of gas discharge tube is known also as a Geissler Tube. These tubes can be excited either by an IEC Rhumkorff’s Coil EM3450-001 or by a special IEC Power Supply designed for the purpose (Code: HL3785-001).
The HL3785-001 Spectrum Tube Power Supply is a very high voltage instrument designed to reliably operate these tubes. A deep insulated socket is mounted on the power supply housing and a long stainless steel earthed extension rod and contact clip allows the tube to be held securely and vertically without using risky cables or a doubtful remote holder.
Use under appropriate supervision.
The tubes can be purchased separately or a set of 6 high quality Gas Discharge Tubes in a styrene foam pack. This pack consists of Hydrogen (Code: PA3786-002), Helium (Code: PA3786-005), Nitrogen (Code: PA3786-008), Argon (Code: PA3786-006), Mercury (Code: PA3786-001) & Neon (Code: PA3786-003).
