The magnetic probe features a magnet mounted in a gimbal that enables it to align with any magnetic field. Apart from investigating fields around magnets, it can be used to detect:
1. magnetic field around a wire when current flows through the wire
2. the effect on the magnetic field when current flow is reversed.
3. the effect on the magnetic field when current flow is increased
4. Increasing the magnetic field around wire by winding it into a coil
5. Increasing the magnetic field of a coil by inserting an iron core into the centre of the coil.
